Frequently Asked Questions
How Can We Help You?
Find answers to common questions about addiction, treatment, recovery, and getting started at Roshan Raasta.
Yes. The WHO recognizes addiction (substance dependence) as a health disorder. In its International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11), it includes diagnoses such as:
- Substance dependence, including alcohol, opioids, cannabis, and nicotine.
- Harmful patterns of substance use.
- Behavioral addictions, including gambling disorder and gaming disorder.
We provide treatment for both chemical and non-chemical addictions.
Our programs are designed to help individuals struggling with a wide range of substance use and behavioral addictions, including alcohol, prescription medications, heroin and other opioids, crystal meth (ice), cocaine, cannabis and other drugs.
We also treat non-chemical addictions such as gambling, gaming, internet and social media addiction, pornography, and other compulsive behaviors.
There is no single sign that someone needs help, but certain changes in behavior often indicate that professional support may be needed.
Common warning signs include a noticeable loss of control over substance use or a particular behavior, frequent mood swings, changes in sleeping or eating patterns, neglect of personal, family, or work responsibilities, secrecy, social withdrawal, financial or legal problems, and continuing the behavior despite its harmful consequences.
If you notice several of these signs in yourself or a loved one, it is important to seek a professional assessment as early as possible. Early intervention can make recovery easier and prevent the problem from becoming more severe.
Yes. Confidentiality is one of the foundations of our treatment program. We understand that seeking help for addiction is a deeply personal decision, and we are committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of every client.
All personal information, medical records, therapy sessions, and treatment details are kept strictly confidential and shared only with the client’s consent or when required by law.
Our team provides a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where clients and their families can seek help with complete confidence.
Yes. Family involvement is an important part of the recovery process. Addiction affects not only the individual but also their loved ones, which is why we encourage families to actively participate in treatment.
At Roshan Raasta, we conduct weekly family sessions where family members have the opportunity to be heard, ask questions, and better understand the nature of addiction and recovery.
We provide guidance on how they can support their loved one in a healthy and constructive way while avoiding behaviors that may unintentionally hinder recovery.
With the client’s consent, we also work closely with families to gain valuable insights into the client’s history, behaviors, strengths, and challenges. This information helps our clinical team develop and continuously refine a personalized treatment plan that best supports long-term recovery.
At Roshan Raasta, we believe that lasting recovery requires more than simply stopping the use of substances. Our treatment program combines evidence-based clinical care with peer recovery support to address the physical, emotional, psychological, and social aspects of addiction.
Our program includes:
- Individual therapy with a Clinical Psychologist.
- Recovery coaching with experienced recovering addicts.
- Daily group therapy sessions.
- Family therapy and weekly family meetings.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based therapeutic approaches when appropriate.
- Relapse prevention planning.
- Psychoeducation about addiction and recovery.
- Medical assessment and psychiatric care, when required.
- Structured daily routines, character building, and life skills development.
- Aftercare planning and ongoing follow-up support.
Every treatment plan is personalized to meet the unique needs of the individual, ensuring that each client receives the care and support necessary for long-term recovery.
No. A relapse does not necessarily mean that treatment has failed or that recovery is impossible. Recovery is an ongoing process that requires continuous effort, honesty, willingness, and commitment from the client.
When a relapse occurs, it is an opportunity for the individual to honestly examine what choices, behaviors, attitudes, or circumstances led them back to substance use. This requires greater openness, sincere self-exploration, and the courage to identify and accept personal shortcomings without denial or blame.
When approached with this mindset, a relapse can become a valuable learning experience that leads to a stronger and higher-quality recovery.
However, relapse should never be viewed as acceptable or inevitable. If a client consistently follows the principles of recovery, remains honest, seeks help when struggling, and practices the tools they have learned, the likelihood of relapse is greatly reduced.
At Roshan Raasta, we help clients understand the factors that contributed to their relapse, strengthen their recovery plan, and provide the support needed to help them return to recovery with greater insight and determination.
Taking the first step is often the hardest, but it is also the most important.
Take care of any urgent personal, work, or family commitments. Then, sit together as a family and have an open and honest conversation about the need for treatment. It is important that everyone understands the situation, supports the decision, and is united in helping the individual begin recovery.
Once you have made a firm decision, contact Roshan Raasta to schedule a confidential assessment with our addiction specialists. Come with an open mind, a willingness to be honest, and a genuine desire to change. These qualities are the foundation of successful recovery.
